Painting Pavilion 1
The Painting Pavilions are constructs that recycle elements of furniture found in car boot sales and from the streets around where I live. By loading painterly references from different tropes of modernism and home design, I am interested in the self-reflexive conversations between formal elements of design and painting. Following on from the modernist mantra of form following function, the painting Pavilions suggest themselves to me as propositions for architectural constructions that might be seen to carry a sense of failed promise.
